Good evening, SMS!  

• This week we are celebrating our wonderful custodians, Mr. Nick and Ms. Brandi! Custodian Appreciation Day is this Thursday, October 2nd. Help us celebrate all they do for Springville Middle School! 

• SMS Volleyball has a home game this Tuesday, September 30th, versus Ashville Middle. The games start at 3:30pm! 

• The St. Clair County 7th Grade Volleyball Tournament is Thursday, October 2nd. All tournament games will be played at Ashville High School. The 7th grade Springville girls first match is at 4:00pm. 

• The St. Clair County 8th Grade Volleyball Tournament is Saturday, October 4th. Their tournament is also at Ashville High School with the 8th grade Springville girls first match at 9:30am.  

• Kona Ice will be on campus Thursday, October 2nd. Students can purchase items during their regularly scheduled PE class. 

• Girls’ soccer tryouts will be happening soon! Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested needs to sign up in the main office this week. This is a reminder that anyone interested in trying out must have a current physical and updated DragonFly account. 

• We’ll also be having golf team tryouts soon! 7th and 8th grade students can sign up for tryouts in the office this week!  

• Lastly, as a look ahead, we will begin 9-weeks tests for 6th-8th grade students on Monday, October 6th. I would like to encourage you to look at the PowerSchool Parent Portal this week and have discussions with your child about their current progress in each class as we prepare for the end of the 1st 9-weeks grading period.
