We had a meeting today with someone from Lathan & Associates in regard to the interior elements in a few of the spaces at our new school--the library/media center, the band room, and the gym.
Today's meeting covered topics such as shelving, storage spaces, floor design, and more.
We are one day closer to having a new school for our community! It's great to be a Springville tiger!

We have some exciting news that we'd like to share in regards to the new school construction project in Springville!
We have some exciting news that we'd like to share in regards to the new school construction project in Springville!
Since early summer, we have had several meetings to discuss the plans for our new school. At this point, our main point of contact has been Lathan and Associates--the architects hired to design our project. Meetings have included discussions on various topics including: number of projected students, traffic flow studies, site positioning, specific needs and wants with input from staff members, etc.
The new site will be next to the current Springville High School. If facing the high school from Hwy 11, the new school will be to the right of SHS. We plan to host 7th, 8th, and 9th grades in the new school incorporating a Jr. High approach. The main reason for this grade-level designation is to provide space relief for all our current campuses in the Springville feeder pattern.
The timeline of events as it relates to site preparation and building is contingent upon the bid process. We hope to bring a finalized project to bid in early spring of 2024. After that time, we can provide more details regarding benchmark dates and a tentative timeline of the path to completion.
The central focus of our planning meetings thus far have been centered on building a long lasting facility that will house our students for future generations in our ever-growing community. We hope to bring you more updates soon! Understand that a project of this size will take time and patience. It's important to us that we carefully and thoughtfully make the best decisions for our students' future!
